President Donald J. Trump outlined a plan at the Kennedy Space Center where NASA intends to launch the first nuclear-powered spacecraft to MARS within two years. He framed the announcement as a family story, referencing his uncle Dr. John Trump, a former MIT faculty member who received a science award from Ronald Reagan. The stated long-term objective is to land American astronauts on Mars and plant the US flag there.
