DeSantis is telling CNN the GOP has no Trump for 2028, and he's not sugar coating it. Trump's brand and persona pulled in people from all over the spectrum, some of them not even on the same page as each other, but nobody else in the party has that outsized pull. So the pitch shifts to ideas and results, the Florida model where they set goals, got aggressive, and delivered for people. He says the party moves into an ideas-based future because no one can hog the room's oxygen the way Trump does. Fine. Then what. We need big wins rooted in plain sense and a clear vision against the Democrat agenda that lands January 2027. Dems and plain sense don't share a zip code. Midterm voters approved conservative ballot initiatives, so the appetite is there. The MAGA movement minus the man is the whole test.
