Vienna MAK heist Van Cleef & Arpels necklace

@jolyonA $4 million diamond necklace vanished from Vienna's Museum of Applied Arts, also known as MAK, during broad daylight. The two suspects entered by buying standard tickets and blending in with the crowd before one pulled a gun while the other struck the armored display case roughly 41 times with a hammer. What was taken is a Van Cleef & Arpels piece weighing 200 carats and holding 673 diamonds. This specific item was commissioned for Queen Nazli of Egypt and later worn at her daughter's wedding to the future Shah of Iran back in 1939. Source: Daily Mail / Writer: Mhedi #Jewelry

The image is a split screen showing a lavish diamond necklace on the left and two grainy surveillance photos of men on the right. The necklace is ornate and appears to be made of platinum and diamonds, with a central large diamond surrounded by smaller stones and intricate detailing. The men in the surveillance photos are wearing dark shirts and appear to be looking down or away from the camera, with one having a mustache. The overall mood is one of luxury juxtaposed with a sense of mystery or potential crime.
