That gamble is now costing them, with the winger unavailable for a minimum of two months and possibly out until November if his rehab goes according to plan. The warning signs were there: he had barely played competitive football for roughly two years, and that kind of layoff takes a toll on a body. Push too hard coming back and you risk injury or setbacks. That is exactly what happened. What nobody can say is what version of Mudryk eventually steps back onto a field, or whether he ever gets back to his old level.
