@thewildSandy wallaby, agile wallaby, same animal, and it's one of the most common hop-alongs across northern Australia. Its range spills into parts of New Guinea too. Grasses and plants are the everyday meal, but when the dry season bites, the menu opens up: fruits, seeds, roots, leaves, bark. Water gets scarce and this marsupial digs into dry creek beds and billabongs to find it. A joey stays tucked in the pouch for around 7 to 8 months. Local threats are real, but the species is listed as Least Concern. Nature keeps producing survivors.
