@anjali.filmiTravis Knight, the director behind Wildwood, told the Hollywood Reporter that Amazon prioritized Masters of the Universe for streaming over a theatrical run. He admitted he didn't expect this focus when starting the project. Knight felt his hope for recognition of the filmmakers and the film was not met. He believes the movie deserved a more favorable outcome than it received. Yet he indicates he has accepted the situation. "Its life on streaming was much more important to [them] than in theaters," Knight said. "It's not something I understood going into it. I wanted their faith in us as filmmakers and in the movie to be rewarded in a way that wasn't to my hopes and expectations. The film deserved a better fate than it got, but I've made peace with it." https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-features/wildwood-director-travis-knight-films-journey-interview-1236736246/
