The U.S. Navy locked in $76.6 billion in contracts for Virginia-class attack subs and Columbia-class ballistic missile boats. General Dynamics Electric Boat and HII’s Newport News Shipbuilding will handle new construction and major yard upgrades. Those awards feed straight into the AUKUS pact and the nuclear deterrent.
