Iran warns Syria over Lebanon invasion

Iran reportedly delivered a stark warning to Syria: invading Lebanon is a fast track to losing the presidential palace. Tehran told Damascus that crossing the border would trigger Iranian strikes on hundreds of targets across multiple fronts within Syria, with the seat of power explicitly in the crosshairs. This threat responds to an alleged U.S.-backed scheme to push Syrian troops into eastern Lebanon and drive deeper into the Bekaa Valley from several directions. Regional reactions to the plan were split. Iraq and Qatar wanted no part of it. The UAE was reportedly prepared to bankroll the operation. Saudi Arabia expressed openness to any move that weakened Hezbollah, provided it did not ignite a wider war. Hezbollah is apparently taking the threat seriously. It is another potential conflict zone heating up. Source: Unews / Writer: Daniyal #MiddleEast
