Mercedes Moné Willow Nightingale 2023 injury reflection

Mercedes Moné admits it took significant therapy to stop blaming Willow Nightingale for the injury they shared in 2023. The two had already crossed paths that year, and Moné carried heavy feelings about that match for a long time. She calls the incident a freak accident but refuses to pretend she didn't replay every detail in her head. Her mind looped on Nightingale’s positioning, where her hands were on the ropes and turnbuckle, and how there wasn't enough room to fully get her foot onto the top turnbuckle. Over and over again. That is what happens when you are injured: your body stops, but your mind does not. Eventually, Moné started asking herself a different question. She wondered if God was telling her to slow down rather than stop wrestling entirely. She believes the message was about healing mentally, emotionally, and spiritually, not just physically. At that point in her life, she says she was putting on the strongest face she could possibly find within herself. (Moné Mag) #MercedesMone #WillowNightingale
