    Neurogenesis and positive thinking

    The whole 'just think positive' advice falls apart when you're actually stuck in a dark place. What's wild is that your brain is literally capable of building new neurons, no metaphor needed. It doesn't listen to the little pep talks you give yourself in the mirror. It pays attention to what you keep doing, over and over. Each time you replay the same thought or react the same way, those neurons fire together, and with enough repetition, they wire together. Weeks turn into months, months into years, and suddenly it's not just a rough patch. It's a loop carved deep into your nervous system. That's why slapping on a smile or whispering 'i'm fine' a hundred times does nothing. It's like slapping a fresh coat of paint on a wall that's already collapsing. So what actually moves the needle? Neurogenesis. Your brain growing real, physical cells. Not some vibe or energy thing, actual biology. And here's the kicker: you don't need to believe in it for it to happen. You just need to start changing what your body does. Small, repeated actions that break the old pattern, that's the signal your brain picks up to start laying down a new route. The repetition is the whole game.
