Peter Berg on Call of Duty movie

Peter Berg is making it clear that CALL OF DUTY won't play like a superhero movie. The director says the focus lands on what war actually costs people, and per Variety, he's stressing that these aren't cartoon characters or comic books, with no disrespect meant by that. The storylines, in his words, are very nuanced. That's the tone he's going for.
