Shaquille O'Neal on big men shooting threes
por Tufail: Shaquille O'Neal
shaq says he's the reason bigs shoot so many threes now. during his career, centers tried to pull him away from the basket so they started stepping out. he mentions dirk, duncan, and garnett as the ones who popularized the pick-and-pop. growing up he watched kareem and robinson so he was told to stay inside, but his game forced everyone else to adapt

Big men now, they shoot the three ball a lot. And it's my fault. Explain. Because when I was playing, no big guy wanted that thunk. So they all moved out. Right? No, think about it. And, like, we're all products of our environment. So when I was growing up, I watched Kareem. I watched you and I watched Robinson. So I was told to get inside. Yeah. But when I was playing the dominant, what was the opposing center trying to do? Bring Shaq out, bring Shaq out. So you got guys like the Derrick and the Duncans and the Garnett, they would pick and pop. So all these kids, they're watching Biggs do pick and pop now. Oh, I've never thought about that. Yes. It's all my fault.
