Standing in front of this hospital tonight in Kathmandu, it is clear that the disaster is still unfolding. Survivors are being brought here while families anxiously wait for the news. We spoke to relatives who told us they are still trying to find out whether loved ones are safe, stranded or among the missing. I'm sorry. I was looking for a couple of times, but I felt the same way that my family was in touch. My family was also very stressed and I am very stressed and my mom is very stressed. Last contact I have been very stressed. officials are describing the destruction as beyond imagination entire settlements have been hit roads have been ripped apart and bridges swept away and key infrastructure badly damaged along one of nepal's most important mountain routes into tibet and china the exact cause is still being investigated but nepal's foreign minister says early indications point to a major event high upstream, possibly an avalanche or debris flown, unleashing a huge source of water and mud downstream. There will be questions later about warnings, preparedness and whether more could have been done. But here at the hospital tonight, these questions feel secondary, because the people arriving through doors are only part of the story. For every survivor brought here by helicopter, there are families waiting for news.
