Sol on Canadian immigration and recession

    por Jolyon: Canada

Sol points out that the influx of temporary foreign workers and new arrivals in Canada is so massive that many people are calling it an invasion. The economy is struggling, and earlier this year officials were already using the term 'technical recession.' Housing and jobs are taking hits, and the impact from both legal and illegal immigration has to be part of that conversation.

We've got temporary foreign workers. We've got mass immigration, which feels more like, to use the term, invasion. That's what it feels like. And it's just not the same. And the results are plain as day. The economy is not doing well. Canada is in what the talking heads called a technical recession in the early 20s, in the year, earlier this year. So technical may be just a technical term. We're in a recession. And that's the reality of things on the ground here. Well, we definitely have to look at how much of an impact that immigration, both legal and illegal, is having in this current state of the comedy right now.
