Ceuta migration evacuation chaos
The situation in Ceuta turned into a public order crisis after police attempted to move people from Tramplín and Benítez beaches to a new port camp with 1,500 capacity starting in the morning. Hundreds of irregular migrants caused street congestion and chaos during the eviction, leading to an immediate crush that forced police to fire warning shots into the air and deploy rubber bullets and batons. Some members of the crowd breached the cordon and fled through the streets while insufficient space meant thousands were returned to the beach. Following a July breach that allowed up to 80,000 people into the city, authorities estimate approximately 10,000 remain. Health concerns have also emerged as monkeypox was confirmed in a 13-year-old Moroccan teenager and chickenpox and tuberculosis cases have been recorded in overcrowded centers. #Movies
