American Girls

On March 6, 2026, Harry Styles dropped American Girls as the second single from his fourth studio album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. The track marked a sharp pivot into Italo disco and house music, driven by a relentless four-on-the-floor beat and shimmering synthesizers that critics immediately linked to David Bowie's synth-driven aesthetics.

Co-written with Tom Hull and Tyler Johnson, the song paints a playful picture of Styles' fascination with American women he met during US tours. He described the mood as hovering between temptation and detachment, serving as a light-hearted centerpiece for the album's dancefloor energy. Critics noted how the production echoed contemporary acts like The 1975 while drawing clear comparisons to James Blake.

The official music video arrived simultaneously on YouTube, directed by Tanu Muiño. It adopted a self-aware action-movie aesthetic where Styles performed stunts in harnesses and car rigs. Visible stunt doubles and crew members broke the fourth wall throughout the clip to emphasize the filmic fantasy. The video racked up tens of millions of views within weeks of its release. [editar]
